Packaging Design
The brief was to re-design their boxes for their gift collection series across all products, so that the packaging is consistent across the range whilst also remaining relevant all year round (not just for Christmas!)
The individual product packaging which already exists, is highly patterned and colourful. Human+Kind wanted exterior box packaging that would work with this.
The richness of the aubergine was selected to create solid blocks of colour to ‘ground’ the base of the box and also emphasise the ribbon element of the ‘gift collection’ feature.
Lots of white space was utilised to contrast with the strong primary palette colours which allows the product images to shine and gives an extra richness and contrast to the aubergine. The apple green emits a fresh, clean feel to reference the key features of the products which are: vegan, humane and natural ingredients.
The fuchsia pink of the secondary palette was used (in tandem with one of the patterns from the individual product packaging), to give an extra ‘pop’ of colour.
The overall look, is clean and uncluttered so that it complements the products contained within (and their packaging) rather than competing with them.
